I miss college already, I've started setting myself summer projects cause I have nothing to do but it's not the saaame. I miss all my little buddies!

I've never bought anything from etsy but I've spent so many lazy days looking through everything, I think it's a really inspiring website to peruse for all kind of crafty idea's. Here's some stuff I've found today.

amazing frog mug

The thought of making someone a cup of tea and them finding a teeny frog peering up at them really tickled me.

skull cameo

maaaan I LOVE cameo's so bad, I have about 15, my favourite is a beautiful shiny black and gun metal silver rose one my boyfriend got me when we started dating. This one makes my stomach go all twisty cause I want it so bad!

I love bunting, it makes everything look so happy and pretty and festive, this one's made out of wood and is really cute and cheery, d'awwww!

I love pocket watches so much! I think it's the combination of my love of vintage/antiques and how much I adore Alice in Wonderland.

I Want To Ride On My Bicycle

I think it's necessary I own this when I move to London, I'll carry shoes and glass milk bottles and French bread sticks in the basket.

Does Anyone Remember This?

I was sat around looking through my old Vogues when I found this shoot by Tim Walker that I meant to post about aaaages ago (such a naughty blogger) so I scanned it super fast just for you! 

The shoot was around the time us Brits were flapping about the recession (swine flu soon took over our minds) and takes a really quirky look at the theme of make do and mend using stuff you'd find in your kitchen.

It's such a lovely shoot, if I wasn't so boisterous and clumsy I'd love to wear the teacup earmuffs!

FMP: Reworked Trench

I really wanted to post some sketchbook pages from my FMP but the college is keeping everything but my garments to show future students, it's okay though it's all in safe hands.

Here are a couple of images of my final garment for this project (these are unedited, the ones used in my exhibition were edited) which I made out of a huge men's trench I got for a fiver.

I decided to re-work a trench after seeing the re-worked trenches created at Burberry, for me creating a dress was too obvious so I made a jumpsuit. (not that I'm implying that my college project was more imaginative than Burberry's whole collection in ANY way!) Whilst creating this I kept my initial straight jacket inspiration in mind which I think is reflected on the back of the garment. 

Instead of first drawing up a design I just unpicked, pinned, unpinned, tacked and untacked for about three days until I decided on a shape I liked, it was relatively straight forward to sew, the most technical bit was probably the arm holes.

My model (Miss Lauren Squires, fabulous illustrator) is actually going to KILL ME for posting these pictures, I'll definitely owe her a few tins of strongbow....

London Calling

So... I got my BTEC results the other day (at last, JEEZE) aaaaaand I got two distinctions and a merit. Sorry, what? You didn't catch that? 

I GOT TWO DISTINCTIONS AND A MERIT!

That means I can move to London in October

and live here

And study here (here being Middlesex university)

To learn this
